I've played through a long way, alas... I can't make it any further (about 20+ hours into the game)
Do you mean that you hate it so much that you don't want to play any more, or you're literally stuck, and you can't make it any further?

I truly wanted to love Final Fantasy VII. For that matter, I wanted to love a lot of the FF games. The fans go on-and-on about how great these games are, so time I pop FFVII into my PS1. Then I stare at the screen bored out of my mind. After about twenty minutes of unskippable text-ridden exposition I can finally start the game... except that I don't get to play the fun part of the game yet. I spend the next hour in turn-based grinding limbo. Then I get to see a cut scene before I spend another hour in a dungeon fighting identical enemies. After two hours has passed without making any real progress in the game, I decide I have better games I could play.

Come to think of it, that story goes for almost every turn-based JRPG I've ever played.

I played it, when I first bought it and came about 20+ hours into it, but then I put it aside for a month or so and tried to pick it up again

and I just couldn't do it...

maybe one of these days

I don't hate it, I just don't feel that I like it

and I do want to like it, not only because everyone tells me it's great, but because I paid for it and got that far into it

it's PAL =)

and although it's (apparently) worth quite a hefty sum (about €100, from what I've gathered) I can't get myself to sell it

it's one of the few GC games I have and... as mentioned... one of these days

Way I read the thread is:
Games everyone rants and raves about, but I don't like it.

For me:
Super Mario Galaxy - I dunno, just didn't feel like Super Mario 64, and I didn't like the 'new' feel

Resident Evil - I don't know why, but I just can't get a hold on this game. I beat 2, 3, 4, 5, 0 easily, but I have never been able to bring myself to beat the original, on ANY system

Majora's Mask - Once again, I was expecting a rehash of OoT, but got something completely different. Too different for my tastes back then. Maybe I'll try to pick this up again.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2.

The style of the games are right up my alley, but I just can't get into their story mode. And the controls aren't so good with me either.

Although VJ: Red Hot Rumble's Battle Mode is kickass.
