You are making things up flake, I never said that they did anything like what you said. Oh and it IS a quote see the "s? That is what they are for. I said they started development 3 years ago, and It is getting released in.. A month or so. So it took 3 years to complete it. Do I need to explain that further? Development started 3 years ago, and it went gold a while ago. So yes it took 3 years to develop. Or do I need to repeat myself
?
When I said 'nice wikipedia quote' it was more a comment on the quote being from Wikipedia (the most reputable and trustworthy of sources) than my having a sudden revelation that the " symbols meant quotes. That other stuff I said is something I like to call 'humor'.
And you've been repeating yourself. You can stop. Look, simple concept:
I run to the store in 12 minutes.
I walk to the store in 30 minutes.
Just because I choose to walk, doesn't mean that 30 minutes is the actual time it takes to get to the store. That's just how long I gave myself to do it. If I chose a faster way, I could have gotten there in 12 minutes.
Same with game design. You don't release a game as soon as it is done if the most recent iteration is still selling quite well. You shelve it and develop your marketing strategy. Or, conversely, you take your time making it and only hire minimal staff until the final push.
They had 3 years. They probably didn't NEED 3 years. It just made financial sense to take their time or 'walk to the store'.
