I still don't know if that blog about the pokemon killing hack of Pokemon Red was true or not, but now it doesn't matter. It actually sounds like I'll have a reason to play a pokemon game again.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

amazing... I'm contacting the team to try to set up an interview or something for the GBPL blog.

why are they hacking FireRed though?
I think they should just hack vanilla Pokemon Red to keep it as close to the story as possible.

it's an enhanced remake of an urban legend.AppleQueso wrote:why are they hacking FireRed though?

I just don't like the idea of using the remake... Makes it seem less "real".

I gots a lot of nostalgia for the original GB one and never played any game in the series past Crystal.

I never spent more than 10 mins on any of the original GB versions, so I have zero nostalgia for it myself. I suppose that's why our opinions differ so greatly.AppleQueso wrote:I gots a lot of nostalgia for the original GB one and never played any game in the series past Crystal.
At any rate, I'm guessing that the most likely reason for the decision was that they were more versed in GBA ROM-hacking than GB ROM-hacking is all.

I guess they're only releasing it as a patch... which I know is more on the up and up, but it would have been way cooler if they released creepy looking black GBA carts.
