Creepy Pokemon Black: It's actually happening

I still don't know if that blog about the pokemon killing hack of Pokemon Red was true or not, but now it doesn't matter. It actually sounds like I'll have a reason to play a pokemon game again.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

why are they hacking FireRed though?

I think they should just hack vanilla Pokemon Red to keep it as close to the story as possible.

I just don't like the idea of using the remake... Makes it seem less "real".

I never spent more than 10 mins on any of the original GB versions, so I have zero nostalgia for it myself. I suppose that's why our opinions differ so greatly.

At any rate, I'm guessing that the most likely reason for the decision was that they were more versed in GBA ROM-hacking than GB ROM-hacking is all.

I guess they're only releasing it as a patch... which I know is more on the up and up, but it would have been way cooler if they released creepy looking black GBA carts.
