a friend of mine was just trying to convince me of this the other day. I suppose I should break down and get Zero Mission.SpaceBooger wrote: This game is much more than a remake.

Absolutely; I feel the same way. A handheld feels like an amusement, a toy, a fun, harmless distraction, easily paused, easily moved, and not out to scream its existence. I like it- it doesn't take over a room or COMMAND your attention. And you can "be" along side someone else who himself / herself is reading a magazine or watching TV or painting toenails, and the two of you are not contesting each other.SpaceBooger wrote:Flake wrote:I think the GBA/DS (or any handheld console) is my new best friend. After putting the kids to bed I sat down on the couch next to my wife and played from about 9 to 11:30 while she watched TV. Because I was sitting next to her, instead of the basement where the computer and all of my older non HD consoles are, she was perfectly happy and didn't give me a hard time for playing or not spending time with her. NICE!

Ahh! Game beaten in 5.5 hours.
So it looks like the the game was in fact the whole game after all.
I have to say this game was awesome and much more than a remake. I finished with a low "Item Found" percentage since I didn't feel like traveling back to the other four or five locals after getting the Power Bomb right before the final boss.
So I am thinking about going back one day and loading up the save file and then go back... but then again I have not yet gone back to get the other 25 stars in Super Mario Galaxy.
Anyway, this game was awesome. It held my interest more than the original Metroid and it had a map AND it wasn't over after destroying Mother Brain.
Time to move on to Super Metroid before my copy of Other M arrives at the end of the month.

I am sitting here quite stunned that you do not have Zero Mission. With your love for portable gaming this seems like a terrible oversight.noiseredux wrote:a friend of mine was just trying to convince me of this the other day. Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Oh, it's more than a remake!noiseredux wrote:I guess my aversion has always just been that I already own the Classic NES GBA cart of Metroid, so to spend $10 on a remake seems kind of redundant to me.
The classic Metroid ends with Mother Brain while Zero Mission has two more boss fights and even a Powersuit-less Samus for some stealth type action.
Worth $10.
Noiseredux, I am surprised you havent tried Goozex yet with all the trading you do. Thats where I get all my games and trade my doubles and thats how I got Zero Mission and Fusion.
