Metroid: Zero Mission "Not For Resale"

Post by SpaceBooger »

Today I got Metroid Zero Mission from Goozex and it was the "Not For Resale" version.
Worried that I may have received a demo, I asked Hobie-wan (since he has the same copy) if it was indeed the full game or not. He wasn't 100% sure, so I searched the net. The results were mixed. Some places said full game and some said that the "Not For Resale" version was not.

So I am asking if anyone knows if it is indeed the full retail version of the game or not... Does anyone know?

Just poked around the internet to see about this 'not for resale' copy of Metroid.

...top search result was this thread. Probably not a good sign.

On the other hand, I can clear Metroid Zero Mission in about 3 hours on a good day. And that's not particularly fast. Why not just play it through?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

It's the full game.

Nintendo marks all the full retail copies they give away to managers at GameStop/video game stores/electronics departments as Not For Resale.

My stance is that every Metroid game is "Not for resale".

First off, way to go! This is one of my all time favorite GBA titles.

I know I have one or two GBA carts that had that printed on the label (as though from the factory). One might be M Z M; I'll check when I'm home.

.... awesome game, Z M.

I'm impressed with the 3hr time. I put in 3.5 hours last night and beat Ridley. So I would say that this is probably the full game.
The only difference is that I noticed that even when I deleted all of the save files the bonus' for beating the game (gallery and the OG Metriod) are still available. I don't know if that is normal or because of the "Not for Resale" factor.

On a side note:
I think the GBA/DS (or any handheld console) is my new best friend. After putting the kids to bed I sat down on the couch next to my wife and played from about 9 to 11:30 while she watched TV. Because I was sitting next to her, instead of the basement where the computer and all of my older non HD consoles are, she was perfectly happy and didn't give me a hard time for playing or not spending time with her. NICE!

Fusion is good stuff. Some people complain it is too linear, and it does lock areas away occasionally when you finish them, but it's a fun game.

WOW! I just beat Mother Brain... and wow. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who never played this game, but there are levels after Mother Brain. This game is much more than a remake.
