128Ds! I remember putting a small add on memory card in mine, for backing up games. One of my earlier mods was the basic 8 to 9 drive toggle switch and the tongue scale that would tell you what track the drive head was on. A novelty but interesting to watch that paper scale jump out at the front of the floppy drive as the copy protection rattles the drive head.

1541, the slowest but most intelligent drive singing daisy.
This without a speaker but the movement of drive head.
MSDs were better but could not sing, crank up the volume! :D

MSD DUAL, a real monster.

Add OS X to the operating systems I'm running on my main rig. Depending on how stable hackintosh is on this PC I will be making it my main operating system, stripping my Windows 7 installation down to the minimum for just gaming. Fuck windows.

Eight years and still kicking…

N1996 MSI Mobo
AMD Sempron 1.2Ghz
1GB DDR PC2700
GeForce 4 MX440 (128MB)
60GB HDD

All in a simple white ATX mid tower I got for free. Not the prettiest case, but at least I've got a matching Sega Saturn USB pad.

Certainly dated, but reliable. I only use my PC for emulation, retro PC games, burning discs and listening to music. Guess I never really had a reason to upgrade.

4 gigs of ddr2
500 gig harddrive
1tb harddrive
9600 gt
Windows 7 pro

Old gaming pc, now HTPC:
Athlon 2600+ - 1.6-1.8 ghz
1.25 gigs of ddr

Windows 98se/Dos 6.1 (I think)

Primary desktop:
Atom 330 - 1.6ghz
2 gigs of ddr2
1tb harddrive
1tb harddrive
GMA 950 - intergrated
Windows XP (stripped to 200 megs) - going to change it over to Mint in the near future.

PC going into arcade cab - 1 of 2:
P4 - 2ghz
1 gig of ddr
80 gig harddrive
FX 5200

PC going into arcade cab - 2 of 2:
Geode - 450mhz
1 gig of ddr
8gig hardrive
GPU of some kind
Ubuntu - soon will be Mint or some other form of linux
This actually is the same motherboard in some old ATM machines (circa 2000). A buddies company makes them and they had some backups they were trashing since they are using a newer processor so I obtained one. It runs off of a 4 pin power like an IDE device, so it is hooked up to the PSU of the P4 and will eventually be configured on a KBM switch for dual cab play (its kinda complicated to explain).
