The Dreamcast doesn't usually have an issue with burn speed, so I doubt that would help.OriginalName wrote:As much as it bothers me to be lied to about what I was buying, is there anyway to make the most of my purchase and get Marvel vs. Capcom 2 working? Can I rip the files from the CD and re-burn them onto another CD-R at a slower speed?

Some models do, it's worth a try. Rerip with alcohol 120 and copy slow.racketboy wrote:The Dreamcast doesn't usually have an issue with burn speed, so I doubt that would help.OriginalName wrote:As much as it bothers me to be lied to about what I was buying, is there anyway to make the most of my purchase and get Marvel vs. Capcom 2 working? Also report that guy to amazon, it reminds me of a time I saw a guy selling snatcher for Sega CD for like $10, I asked if it was an original and he replied that the quality was great and that the game played fine and that it didn't matter much. He got reported

I personally have no idea if that would work but hey, what have you got to lose? cd-r's cost only a few cents.OriginalName wrote:As much as it bothers me to be lied to about what I was buying, is there anyway to make the most of my purchase and get Marvel vs. Capcom 2 working? From my own experience, depending on what burner you use, burn speed does in fact matter.racketboy wrote:The Dreamcast doesn't usually have an issue with burn speed, so I doubt that would help.OriginalName wrote:As much as it bothers me to be lied to about what I was buying, is there anyway to make the most of my purchase and get Marvel vs. Capcom 2 working? my friends girlfriend used to make games for me and then she got a new computer and burned them at high speeds. the games didnt work (although sometimes it would boot but not often) so she just re-copied the bad ones and burned them slower.
ive also had the same experience with my burners burning at 10x my games came out half working, i would re-do them at 8x with 100% success. yes, same cd-r's.
its totally true that burn speed matters with dreamcast games, although some burners may work better than others.

I've always burned my DC games at high speeds and I can't think of any that I've had issues with. But that is probably down to dumb luck rather than anything more concrete.
