RIP Probie... He was probably the 2nd most popular Red Wing after Steve Yzerman(yes even more popular than Sawchuk or Howe)... I was never the biggest fan of his but he did meet my mother and her friend when I was young... Pretty cool she told me the story that he was hitting on her friend when they worked at bartenders at this bar.. Anywho, his story overall is pretty tragic he was an alcohol and drug addict and was actually a talented player, but gained the reputation as an enforcer to due his fighting skills and hot temper... His drug bust in 89 pretty much ruined his career and he hasn't been the same since..

Yup. This really sucks for a lot of people, me included, as he taught me what an enforcer was. He wasn't a goon. He scored (I believe) 160+ goals and 200+ assists in his career. But he could also beat the snot out of guys like Tie Domi. He truly was the best at what he did.

So long, courageous Bob. You'll be missed.

Welcome to the site man. I've actually kissed (more like molested) the Stanley Cup when the 'Canes won it and brought to my University. I even grew out a pseudo-mullet for the picture, which should be somewhere on this forum. The picture, not my hair.

I grew up in Chicago, so the Hawks are still my team, but also love the Hurricanes (also a huge Bruins fan). I've coached little league, played in College, and still slap the puck around for fun (that is not an euphemism). So, in short, you ever want to hockey, I should be around. If it's specific, pm me, as work has taken over 80% of my time, but I should still pop in and out (again, not an euphemism) on these boards.

That's pretty awesome... I'm not the hugest hockey fan but growing up in Southeastern Michigan so you tend to pick it up as you go... I'm more of a baseball and football fan.. Diehard Tigers fan btw, been following them since the early 90s.. Yes I even followed the horrific 119 loss 2003 season..

Try being a Cubs fan. That's like that Tiger's season, but for 101 years.

Yeah your manager Lou Piniella needs to go.. I got a similar guy on the Tiger's coaching staff that has become a joke in Lloyd McClendon.. The offense has totally underachieved for 3 years under him and he needs to go also...

I say trade the entire team before firing Sweet Lou. He doesn't have much to work with.

His team has the second highest payroll in baseball and they have a top 10 farm system... I think there is something else other than talent that's wrong with that team... Maybe his staff like Leyland's is a joke...
