Well yeah, PLENTY of excellent ones even, but Metal Slug Anthology isn't one of them :)
I have the ps2 version and didn't notice anything. But I've never played the originals on another system. I noticed really bad lag on the Sonic 2 demo on xbox live. I think it has something to do with the pressure sensitive buttons new systems have, and the controls don't respond unless the button is pressed all the way in at full force. maybe.
Nah, a few other compilations on ps2 use emulation and run fine without any input lag.

Another advantage of PS2, tons of Arcade style controllers, also on the cheap!

May as well throw out my queries as well.

Comparing the following on either Gamecube or PC with the current steam sale

Prince of Persia games
Beyond Good and Evil

And the following I want to compare the GBA ports to the original (flashing the noise signal here)

-Tales of Phantasia
-Final Fantasy IV and VI/II and III on SNES
-Legend of Zelda: LttP (the two NES classics as well I guess)
-Megaman and Bass
-Donkey Kong Country I-III
-Breath of Fire I/II
-The Lost Vikings

I have the Metal Slug Collection on the PS2 and it's totally fine for me. It's not perfect, but it plays fine IMO. If you're a perfectionist, you'd be playing the AES versions!

Yes, the lag is only noticeable in the first game in the Metal Slug Anthology. The rest are fine.

So, if lag is the only thing that's hurting the PS2 version of Metal Slug Anthology, then I might pick it up, unless you guys have heard anything about the Wii versions of that game and SNK Classics Vol. 1...

Ah. Well, if lag only exists on the first game, no wonder I had no problems. All I really play is Metal Slug 2 & 3.

One thing about the Namco Museum stuff is that's been released 50 times. Most have the same 5 or 6 core games over and over and over. The PS1 versions had some little known games tossed in though. So you'll want to check the versions to see what each includes.

I would not get the Wii version. As far as I know it does not support the classic controller.
