Need opinions on what version of games to get...

Post by JokermanJohnny »

I'm trying to collect a specific version of some games that are multiplatform. Main reason why I ask this is so I can look out for control issues, framerate issues, emulation issues, etc.

The games I'm not sure to look for on a certain system are:

Namco Museum
Prince of Persia
SNK Classics Vol. 1
Metal Slug Anthology

If there are any other mulitplatform games that work best on a specific console, can you guys let me know?

Metal Slug Anthology is bad on any system. Terrible, laggy controls.

Just get the games individually on Wii's virtual console.

Is that God awful expensive?

I had the Wii version. It wasn't great, but I made due with it and still enjoyed it.

Bah. Buy the compilation, pirate the Neo Geo versions.

If you really care that much, anyway. It's not like SNK has a crack team of copyright enforcers that break into people's houses and kill those that copy their precio-(TRANSMISSION INTERRUPTED)

the controller lag on the ps2 version was just abysmal. Not to mention how all around "cheap" the compilation feels.

That's disappointing. I was going to buy that version but not now.

Maybe Metal Slug not the best emulated on the PS2. But there are tons of Retro compilations dirt cheap on that old PS2.
Namco, Atari, Neo Geo, Atari, Intellevision, Taito and many more.

I have the ps2 version and didn't notice anything. But I've never played the originals on another system. I noticed really bad lag on the Sonic 2 demo on xbox live. I think it has something to do with the pressure sensitive buttons new systems have, and the controls don't respond unless the button is pressed all the way in at full force. maybe.
