I really want one of these for school.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Not if said manufacturer has a horrendous history of faulty products containing cheap parts. Stay away from Compaq/HP or you will regret it. You've been warned!

I've never had a computer that didn't give me some kind of issues, and I don't expect this laptop nor any future one I own to be any different.
Dude, why exactly did you post this thread? You only seem hostile to the responses you have gotten. I don't know what you were expecting. Are your parents on Racketboy and you decided that this would be a good way to drop hints for your upcoming birthday?

You say in the subject line of the thred that you want the computer for school. However, you now state that you want it to play games and watch movies.

If you have the money to buy the thing, I don't think anyone here has the inclination or ability to stop you. But I'm still wondering what you really wanted when you started this thread.

I'm also wondering why you quoted my post when complaining about people bashing hp laptops. I haven't mentioned the brand yet on this thread.

Regarding the machines I mentioned earlier (Dell's business line): They would be great for school work, but business-class machines are really not built with games in mind. Ignore my suggestion. I will say, though that for what you describe you could do a lot better buying a desktop, if you don't have considerations preventing that.

I have a hp pavilion from like 3 years ago. Still works fine. But I had to constantly clean the dust in the laptop or else it overheats. The battery is now horrible, can still last me a little under an hour- but I mean it's been 3 years. So I've got no complaints about it.
