You know, we can all get into tech specs etc. The point is that although Apple has very large restrictions on hardware, this allows them to build their software to be faster and more optomized on technically worse hardware.

Hey that's fine if you don't feel it is, I for one, feel that it *almost* is, hence why I try to buy their hardware refurbished or used after a year or so.

Depends on where you live, here in Denver, we have a lot of refurbished and used Mac resellers. eBay's good too.
A 2-3 year old refurb will still cost almost as much as a brand new laptop with an i5/i7. Not worth it. Besides you can run OSX on any PC with very little effort.
