Uh, that is Jimmy Kimmel Live. Those are joke endings, for sure. There was only one version of the finale filmed.

I also have accepted for a long time now that we won't get all the answers. But I still feel like I'm going to be let down. The most recent examples have been the light cave (oh, please, a Thomas Kincaid painting is the source of all Island power?) and Widmore's death. I'm all for having the balls to kill characters but Widmore was so promising. I really wanted to know his true motivations.

And for the record, I have loved the time travel. I am a time travel geek, though. I would have much preferred the show lean more toward sci-fi than mysticism. That fucking cave really pissed me off.

I don't think they'd be heavily promoting joke endings. And if they were joke endings, the commercials would have made that pretty clear.

These are alternate endings. And it's common knowledge that alternate scenes and endings have been filmed for previous seasons. It's a way to stops spoilers from getting out. So I doubt only one ending was filmed.

And if it is on the Jimmy Kimmel show, they're probably legit. I know Kimmel is a comedien and has done Lost related humor, but I also know he is a serious fan and would probably be happy to show three legit alternate endings

I should have been more clear. My statement was not opinion, but fact - based on statements by Cuse and Lindelof in their final podcast. There was only one version of the finale filmed. Of course, they can always lie.

The marketing department frequently has nothing to do with the show or writers. I haven't seen the promos, but they have pissed off Cuse and Lindelof before by inaccurately portraying upcoming material.

Hmmm, that sounds odd, but I'll take your word for it. I don't believe everything Cuse and Lindelof say though, they often come off as tricksters in those podcasts, but I guess we'll see tomorrow night

Yeah, Kimmel has done TONS of joke Lost scenes, usually with clips of him and his own staff spliced in. I'm certain that's what is going to happen Sunday. They *might* include the actual actors just because Kimmel and the Lost team have a pretty close relationship. But I would not bank on actual alternates or deleted scenes Sunday night. It's going to be comedy sketches.

I don't know whether to blame the final episode or the entire season (I'm leading toward the latter), but the last fifteen or twenty minutes of the episode seemed like a total cop out.

(Clearly don't read on if you haven't seen the episode.)

I lean towards the latter because the entire "second reality" in the show was a new concept considering the overarching storyline, yet without the concept the end result wouldn't have been possible. It's as if they took the predictions that everyone made from season one (hell or purgatory), and decided to make that an alternate reality so that they could give meaning to the island, keep it "real," and give it a happy ending all at the same time. A cop out.

That or I'm missing something.
