New 2D HD Sonic Coming in 2010 - SONIC 4!

I just played through Sonic Advance today and I thought that it was pretty good. Anyone who can't wait to see if Sonic 4 is any good should give that game a shot.

I played Sonic Advance when it first came out. It was pretty fun. Sonic Advance 2, IMO was the best out of the three.

Ah, I own that one as well but I haven't played it just yet. Maybe I'll give it a shot tonight when I get off work.

Fans of Sonic may want to pick up (or just read) the newest Game Informer, as loads of new information has been announced about the new game!

Sonic 4: Episode 1 has been revealed to be a prologue to the main story. Sonic will be able to do four moves in the game, including the spin dash, rolling attack and homing attack. The fourth move is still unknown.

Classic stages from the series will also be making a return. Like the rest of the game, all of these won't be 3D graphics, but CG pre-renders. Also, like the earlier games, if you don't get all Chaos Emeralds you'll get a "Try Again" ending, but all Emeralds will result in a teaser ending for Episode 2.

Speaking of Episode 2, it is also teased that original sidekicks Tails and Knuckles may be making a return.

The homing attack was in Sonic Rush (I think it was in one of the Sonic Advance games as well). I think it makes a great addition to the Sonic formula.

Sega has informed that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I has now been pushed back to the second half of 2010 in order to allow for more development time.

Bottom line, the publisher wants to add a bit more publish to the game from a gameplay standpoint to assure that it meets the quality that fans will no doubt expect.

Considering that every Sonic game ever has been rushed to some extent, this is good news to me. It shows that they're seriously taking to heart the weight that's sitting on this name.

This may also mean that they're tossing that frigging mine-cart act. Boo not.

in comparison sonic 4 seems to play a lot like sonic adventure series from GBA/DS to me with hi-res graphics, that's not a bad thing. Sega better make it worth the wait. A good sonic game is long overdue.
