I was going to say the same thing about some of that stuff being answered already, but was too lazy to type up a post. Actually, I think a lot of answers are there, it's just we've either missed them or forgot that they were already answered.ZenLogikos wrote:Some of those examples have already been answered(others, airplane falling), and some have been mostly answered(time traveling, travel to/from island, visions). 99% of the rest should be addressed, but I wouldn't count on anything further on "Mother".kingmohd84 wrote: Smoke, Jacob's mom, others, time traveling, the light in the island, how did the airplane fell, how does jacob get his power, and travel between the island and the real world, whats with the visions on the island, how come Lock can walk only in the island, how did Saeed come back to life, who was the japanese guy in the temple,
So basically, island is mystical place that houses some strange, life giving light that is not meant for human contact(hence MIB becoming Smokie). I think it is some kind of Eden, a source of all human life. The island also has strange electromagnetic properties probably related to the light. That explains a lot of weird stuff like people being healed and planes coming down.
We also know the island has some kind of sentience, which may have been represented by "mother" I think. Humans cannot covet the light, which is why the island had to be protected from them, which probably also explains why child birth is not possible on the island. The island doesn't want any more humans on the island. MIB is proof that humans need to be kept away from the light. He was sent into the light and it turned him into an evil monster, who now needs to be imprisoned on the island by Jacob or someone of his choosing. Hence all the candidates. We used to think all the candidates were special. Truth is, Jacob chose them because they were all flawed, much like himself
So now, Jack has become Jacob's replacement. You'd think that would mean Smokie is no longer a threat, but that's not the impression I got last night. He wants to destroy the island(his prison and the thing that ruined his life)and Jack may have to destroy him.
Apparently, Desmond is key in all this. He may either be the key to Smokie destroying the island or the key to Smokie's own destruction. And however they resolve all this alternate reality stuff will be related to him somehow. He seems aware of both realities and sideways reality desmond has apparently completely restored Hurley's memory of his alternate island life and is trying to do the same for everyone else in sideways reality
So that's the real question for me now. What is the point of sideways reality? What will its significance be in the finale? Jacob says he brought the candidates to the island not just because he needed a replacement, but because they needed the island as a way to fix their personal problems. However, we've seen that Jacob is wrong and the alternate reality seems to have been much better for everyone.
Do you know what that means? Jacob is the real villain of this show. He ruined his brother's life by turning him into Smokie and he has ruined the lives of the other characters by bringing them to the island. Many of the deaths on this show can be traced back to Jacob. I'd be trying to kill him AND Smokie. The world needs to be rid of both of them
