miyamoto talks zelda. makes me afraid for it.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Would it be so hard to have an easy mode/hard mode?
How would you create an easy mode for Zelda? The only thing that's remotely difficult are the puzzles, but if you're not going to play the puzzles why play Zelda at all? Zelda hasn't been the least bit hard since the NES days.

i agree with what Hatta says. the controls doesn't bother me either. it's the puzzle part that is challenging.....then again, that's one of the things that makes Zelda, ZELDA!

I think I remember seeing something like this a while ago, so this is probably a new interview about it. Anyway, what I saw before was something where you played the game, but if you had trouble, you could use a coin type thing to trade it in for getting past the problem.

You would turn in the coin or whatever, then it would cut to a video of gameplay footage where you would watch and continure where it left off. It is strictly optional.

Redesign the dungeons completely for the different difficulty settings? They could easily make a hard mode equivalent to OOT Master Quest.

They used this, or at least a form of it, in NSMB Wii. I suspect they'll be using it here too.

That's a lot of extra time spent making the new layouts and making sure the dungeons are balanced and flow correctly. I don't see anyone doing that. Mega Man 10 came the closest by putting platforms over spikes/holes, and that was a pretty quick fix that ends up trivializing a lot of the platforming.

What Miyamoto really wants to make is a gratifying combofest Zelda game in the spirit of Devil May Cry! It doesn't need to be non stop climax action rather could focus on exploration and puzzles instead.

Nintendo can just hand it off to Capcom like they did with the GBA Zelda game.

Ok, maybe not.

Actually, I opted for the Gamecube version because I had no intention of falling for Nintendo's underhanded marketting tactics

I feel bad for all the suckers who fell for Nintendo's master plan and bought a Wii thinking Twilight Princess was a Wii exclusive, which was why those lowlifes pushed back the Gamecube version release date and marketted the hell out of the Wii version

I remember talking to people in stores who had no idea there was a Gamecube version coming out, or that the Wii version was basically a port
I think you're being a bit harsh on Nintendo there. I remember at the time that both versions came out more or less simultaneously, and as I only owned a Gamecube at the time, I thought it was pretty cool of Nintendo to release it on the Gamecube as well. They would have been well within their rights to make it Wii exclusive which would have forced me to upgrade. It struck me as a nice gesture to the loyal GC users.
