So i've been playing Doom again

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Skulltag's internal server browser doesn't fetch the necessary files in case you're missing them. How much is it different compared to ZDoom?

So, that's agreeing with me?
That's right, it's Serious Sam with a lighting problem.
That's quite unfair to Serious Sam. I always have a blast with Serious Sam, but I still haven't gotten through my Doom 3 game.

True, Serious Sam is fun, but let's face it:

They both suffer from the pick-up-this-item-and-a-horde-of-enemies-spawn.

Both games tend to spawn the enemies behind you or from all sides.

Enemies don't physically register damage until they die in both games.

The physics are wonky in both.

Both feature skeletal enemies, massive monstrosities, and critters that screech at you as they charge.

I suppose I ought to go into detail about the differences, but they're really not too many. Serious Sam has better lighting, more open areas, and significantly better multiplayer. Plus, it realizes it's ridiculous and runs with it. Doom 3 takes itself too seriously, even moreso than Painkiller, which still takes itself too seriously for this kind of gameplay.

FYI: When I say Doom I mean Doom 1.

As opposed to Doom's pick-u-this-item-and-a-wall-comes-down-and-a-horde-of-enemies-charge-you?
Both games tend to spawn the enemies behind you or from all sides.
Doom replaces spawn with "get released"
Enemies don't physically register damage until they die in both games.
Not sure what you mean by this.
Both feature skeletal enemies, massive monstrosities, and critters that screech at you as they charge.
Doom has less screetching, but I blame that on the hardware of the time.
Serious Sam has lighting
Fixed that for ya. Every so often when I play Doom 3 I need to alt tab just to make sure my TV is on and I haven't just been staring at a powered-off device.

Ok, fine, Serious Sam has lighting.

I should also note that Doom 3 features the chainsaw guy with a birthday hat.
