Games you enjoyed better on one console because of controls

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

You obviously didn't try to play Capcom vs SNK 2 on the gamecube

It's funny how pretty much the whole world agrees how worthless the 360 controller is for fighting games. Kinda makes ya wonder how it ever got through the door at Microsoft, doesn't it?

I have two different control options for fighting games on 360 - the SFIV Fightpad, and my PS2-to-360 controller adapter that enables me to use any PS1/PS2 controller, most notably my Street Fighter 15th Anniversary PS2 Fightpad.

I'm actually not a big fan of arcade sticks at home.

I might have to look into that because I really wanted to get into RE4 on the PS2 but couldn't because I hated the controls.

Oh, that's easy. They don't use the d-pad to play first person shooters.

LOL! I know, that pretty much sums up the 360 - the FPS and Gears of War console.

I guess the d-pad is just there so we can cycle through our weapons.

The symmetrical dual sticks of the DS/DS2 are annoying, but bearable since most games I play with them don't require simultaneous use of both.

I am a bit of a control stickler - that is the reason that most of the TR entries have a control section. So yes, I have enjoyed games far more on one console than another because of controls. Mostly because of customizable controls. I could not stand FPS games on the Gamecube so I played them on the Xbox, even though I own TS2&3 on it anyway.

I found it interesting that you said you'd be playing Rebelstar with an arcade stick. It didnt' strike me as a stick-game for whatever reason...

I have hurt my hands a couple times in the past, so anytime I can use an arcade stick, which is alot easier on my hand than a controller, Ill use it. This explains why I have a dozen of them. Its nothing terrible just torn ligaments, if I use a controller for too long without taking breaks my hand cramps up fierce.

That and strategy games and RPGs just seem to work with an arcade stick for me.
