You obviously didn't try to play Capcom vs SNK 2 on the gamecubeslowslow325 wrote:Any game that uses the GameCube controller vs. games on the PS2 or XBox are better because the GCN controller is paradise in a gamepad.

It's funny how pretty much the whole world agrees how worthless the 360 controller is for fighting games. Kinda makes ya wonder how it ever got through the door at Microsoft, doesn't it?
I have two different control options for fighting games on 360 - the SFIV Fightpad, and my PS2-to-360 controller adapter that enables me to use any PS1/PS2 controller, most notably my Street Fighter 15th Anniversary PS2 Fightpad.
I'm actually not a big fan of arcade sticks at home.

I might have to look into that because I really wanted to get into RE4 on the PS2 but couldn't because I hated the controls.emwearz wrote:Oh! Resident Evil 4, kicks so much more ass on the Wii than the PS2/GC because the aiming was so much faster / responsive. Make a great game close to perfect.

Oh, that's easy. They don't use the d-pad to play first person shooters.Weekend_Warrior wrote:It's funny how pretty much the whole world agrees how worthless the 360 controller is for fighting games. Kinda makes ya wonder how it ever got through the door at Microsoft, doesn't it?

LOL! I know, that pretty much sums up the 360 - the FPS and Gears of War console.Ack wrote:Oh, that's easy. I guess the d-pad is just there so we can cycle through our weapons.

The symmetrical dual sticks of the DS/DS2 are annoying, but bearable since most games I play with them don't require simultaneous use of both.

I am a bit of a control stickler - that is the reason that most of the TR entries have a control section. So yes, I have enjoyed games far more on one console than another because of controls. Mostly because of customizable controls. I could not stand FPS games on the Gamecube so I played them on the Xbox, even though I own TS2&3 on it anyway.

I found it interesting that you said you'd be playing Rebelstar with an arcade stick. It didnt' strike me as a stick-game for whatever reason...fastbilly1 wrote:I am a bit of a control stickler - that is the reason that most of the TR entries have a control section. Re: Games you enjoyed better on one console because of controls
I have hurt my hands a couple times in the past, so anytime I can use an arcade stick, which is alot easier on my hand than a controller, Ill use it. This explains why I have a dozen of them. Its nothing terrible just torn ligaments, if I use a controller for too long without taking breaks my hand cramps up fierce.
That and strategy games and RPGs just seem to work with an arcade stick for me.
