I've always felt the same way about Chess Master.
Guess I should have been more specific... The Video Fighting Game equivalent?
I guess what I mean to say is, if SFII were checkers, then 3rd Strike would be chess.

Did you at least watch my awesome video link?

That's tough between ST and 3S....I think I've actually had more fun with 3S.

Plus, 25 seconds into THIS VIDEO.

I love that arcade.
That mans arcade edict is terrible!

III was probably my favorite, however I didn't get to play it more than a few times, so it has to go to SSF4 for how much i've been playing it online recently. 8)

Super Turbo might be one of my favorite games of all time. The Alpha series comes in very close second (except Alpha 3; I hate that game).

Although I respect Third Strike as a really well-designed fighting game and much more creative than the 2 series, it just never clicked with me so I can't appreciate it as much.

Wow, that guy was acting like a complete douche. I probably would have been compelled to punch him in the face if he jumped up and called me a "faggot". Being competitive is one thing, but throwing around homophobic insults like that just makes the guy look like an idiot.

Fun game though. :)

agreed... I feel like maybe people avoid admitting this, because they think it's a cliche. But seriously SFII is such a perfect game.
Couldn't have said it better myself.

I understand that some people love the technical aspect of SFIII and the Alpha series, but SFII is such a pure and true fighter that it's still held up as the archetype of great fighting games today. Street Fighter II is to fighting games what Super Mario Bros. 3 is to platformers.

Haha! I totally agree with you. Actually I have to go even farther and say that I actually dislike all characters with charge input period.

WAT?! Why? Alpha 3 is my favorite Street Fighter game of all time... and I'm like a Street Fighter (all Capcom fighting games really...) junkie... seriously.

I hate charge moves as well. You either crouch-block, which goes totally against my personal fighting style, or master the buffered charge, which I can't do for the life of me. At least with Chun-Li in SF2T the only charge move was her Spinning Bird Kick, which wasn't all that valuable anyway.

SFA3 suffers "Overbloated Character Roster With A Huge Gulf between the Strongest and the Weakest" syndrome. It's not as bad as MvC2, but nothing is as bad as MvC2.

That said, I still enjoy SFA3. It's just not as technically sound as SFA2Gold.
