Final Fantasy XIII on Wii?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

That's enix's old baggage, square doesn't care where it goes.

Final Fantasy "discussions" always have to turn so ugly.

The sarcasm in that quote pyramid is so thick I think I might use it as a butter substitute.

I'd imagine Square doesn't care about much of anything these days. Marionettes tend to leave all the worries to the manipulator - which means that Enix must have it's hands full.

And no - you won't see a port of Final Fantasy XIII, unless Nintendo actually cared enough to finance it's development.

And why would they? Microsoft had a reason, as they and Sony are still fighting for second place. Nintendo could (and, I imagine, has for the past 3 years now) do absolutely nothing with the Wii for the next ten years and still be able to use fresh Benjamins as kindling and septic paper.

Yes, we've seen ports of the Final Fantasy games on the GBA and PSP, but the GBA is practically a portable SNES and the PSP is a portable PSX. It was no problem.

rebuilding the game from the ground up? hahahahahahahaha. clearly you haven't played FF13. the game is so linear the only thing they would need is to downgrade the textures to non-HD quality. which is really easy

And the poly count of the models. And you might have to downgrade futher because you might still be above the size of a single DVD, and I don't know if the Wii can even support disc switching.

wha...hu....how.....why...........................................................why would you think the wii doesn't support the basic function of disk based consoles? yeah it's not exactly state of the art hardware, but it's not total garbage. it can do at least what the previous gen managed.

though you might be right about the polygon count. still it's always easy to shave off stuff (at least compared to building it)
