*sigh* Ten years ago, I would've punched you in the face for saying that. Now, I just don't care.

I think Nintendo could actually do a really good job with Sonic. At least better than what is happening now...

Bashing Sega has really become old hat :x Nowadays you have Activision, Ubisoft and even Capcom.

I'm content with today's Sega. There's little hope of fixing Sonic though. Still looking forward to Sonic 4 (in retail form)

Not surprising, I don't think they can really get back in the race. Their time came and passed, releasing a new Sonic won't have the same punch because he has been out of the game for so long (in a decent way). Mario has been consistently good for 25 years, hard to compete with that. Plus, Mario's sidekicks are just as common as Mario is, I'm sure most people would know Luigi, Princess Toadstool, Toad, Bowser etc. Would the same person likely know Tails, Knuckles and Dr. Robotnick?

Edit: Thinking about it more, they have absolutely no future in hardware. The market is saturated, what possible niche could they fill that a) isn't already being done and b) can't easily be replicated by one of the big 3?

There is such a thing as too much cynicism.
