Aww... well business is business. I hope they can get back on their feet because I'm a big fan of their hardware... wish they could get back to the point of developing consoles again.

They said on twitter that there is no intention of going back to creating hardware from the ring edge and ring wide hardware platforms. Not that they would use those for platforms for that anyways, but either way... I just don't see it happening. They really don't have any great selling games at this point.. not that they couldn't produce one, but if they continue to lay off, it won't do anything but hurt them in the long run. If they would hang on to some of their current developers and let them become more experienced, that would be the ultimate benefit for them.

Maybe it would be best NOT to concentrate on so many types of games. They need to create small GOOD teams. AM2, smilebit, Team Andromeda, Sonic team etc etc etc. Otherwise sega wont be around in 5 years.

A while back ago my friend was laid off from Sega. He is Filipino. He then realized that ALL the workers that were laid off were Filipino. They put two and two together and filed a discrimination lawsuit against Sega. Sega lost the suit and my friend and his former coworkers were compensated. Probably happening again.

As a disillusioned Sega fan, it wouldn't bother me in the least if the current-day Sega went out of business, or at least changed their line of work.

I wouldn't care at this point if sega went under completely. Then in 10 years I could buy the SEGA name.
