I'd have to say that being buried alive is the worst way to go. Imagine waking up inside a coffin and suffocating. Yikes.

Of course, the chances of that are virtually nil these days, provided you're embalmed.

Worst is being stuck on an airplane where both pilots have died for whatever reason. The cockpit door is locked so no one can get in to attempt to land the plane. You just float around until you run out of gas and fall from the sky.

Unfortunately this happened a few years ago but it wasnt a commecial flight or large aircraft so it didnt make a splash in the news.

When I was a kid I used to have horrible nightmares about zombies eating me. So yeah, zombies would be the worst way to die.

Alone and unnoticed. The police find your carcass sitting upright in a chair or lieing in a bed after 3 weeks of marinating in your own juices in the hot summer heat. Yes, this is the death I fear.

Being slowly crushed, like the Terminator in 'Terminator', or the bearded dude in 'Temple of Doom'; or by an anaconda. Each time you breathe out, the coil becomes tighter...it's inevitable.

Although that upside-down, sawed-in-half shit is fucked up.

Like in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...

I would say, horror-style = burned alive.
disease-wise = grade 4 glioblastoma like Allen Shellenberger from Lit had. The mental aspect of dealing with knowing you only have a year to live is terrifying to me. I know most people eventually accept it, but it still scares the hell out of me.

Agh.

You've probably seen those reports on when people get stuck under a train their bodies twist, but can survive for days if the train is not moved, causing their bodies to unwind which kills them.

If that situation happened to me, I'd tell the authorities to wait to move the train until I had a decent last quip.

*take*

"And you guys think the traffic on the freeway is murder"

"I think I can, I think I can, I.........."

"Hey, this beats standing on a crowded train"

Okay, I need to work on those before jumping in front of a train.

Back when I worked in the oilfield, my greatest fear was dying at work - whether by helicopter crash, crane failure, blowout, etc. (There are lots of ways to die on a drilling rig.)

And today I heard out about the oil rig (the Horizon was its name) that exploded in the Gulf of Mexico - which was actually a rig I worked.
