Best quote regarding the game so far. From the x360achievements forum.
This game has it all man, Wookies mastering the art of Shaolin Tree Stance and Buddha Bush Fist (Recon Class) and a door knocking techinique aided with a combat knife even Arnie from Predator 1 would be impressed with.

This game is the best £39.99 i've spent this year…

Ugh. Sucking HARD at this game tonight. Typically score about 100-200 points per game. I just feel like I am at such a disadvantage. I can't see anyone, even when they've been spotted, but they can pick me off from hundreds of yards away. Been playing for four or five nights and haven't even reached the rank 1 yet!

If you ever see me online, just invite me to a party and I'll help you. The first couple of ranks suck. You don't have any weapons that are any good. Play Rush mode. it encourages people not to roll Recon and take pot shots across the map (because you will lose). The best thing to do is just spot, spot, spot and then spot some more. You get 20 points for every spot that gets taken down by your teammates. You only need 5000 points or something for the first rank. Which sounds a lot but I can quite easily get 5000 points per round now that I've had 30 odd hour practice.

Read the links that were posted earlier in the thread. The BC2 reddit is VERY useful to garner strategies (and basically complain how Recons are so bloody annoying).

Oh yeah, please talk to your squad. The worst thing about this game is that nobody talks to each other. I can play on a squad that just doesn't talk (so I'll talk at them, sometimes my begs for STICK TO COVER SO I CAN SPAWN get heeded, often, they don't) and do ok, I play on a squad that talks and advises problems or potential targets ahead of the fact and do 10x better. It really is the difference between winning and losing.

Last night I had 4 games in a row where our team lost despite me receiving the best squad pin and the ace pin every single time. The rest of the team just weren't pulling their weight. At one point there was 5 (FIVE!!!!) wookies (recons) hiding a mile away from the objective, not spotting (which is what a fucking recon should do, that's their job, hence the name, it's why they have an auto-spotting scope as a perk) and getting very few kills because the other team were actually doing their job and sticking to cover. I was fending off wave after wave of troops or clearing entire buildings of enemies just to set the mcom off, and then having 0 support whatsoever and getting raped from both sides.

It's very frustrating when you finish 4 rounds in a row with over 4000 combat points and still lose. It's not the end of the world though, and you don't lose those points. It's just frustrating knowing it's killing my 1.4 w/l ratio through no fault of my own. Those 4 games last night have taken me from 1.4 w/l to 1.31 w/l :( I hope I have better look today.

If you're having trouble next time you play and I'm online, send me a message, or just invite me to your xbox live party and I'll join you asap.

Is that combat score or overall score? I've had a game where I earned 4 patches in a round which is 20000 points on it's own. I love it when that happens. Wish it would happen more often :P
Overall score. It was 2 5000 patches, 1 10000 patch and a bunch if kills with a sniper and pins due to those kills. We held down that area in the first part of the desert when a friend of mine went to an out of the way sniper perch.

I hope its going to be great. I just play squad death match until the rush crates become immune to c4 or takes 100 c4 to take it out of commission.

Have you played recently? They nerfed MCOM damage of all types. It takes A LOT of C4 to blow an Mcom now. It takes at least 3 or 4 times the amount of time it takes to arm and blow the MCOM. However, shotguns are super powerful now, which is a good thing since they're actually useful close quarters weapons now, but everybody uses them. At least you don't get ridiculous situations where you shotgun somebody in the chest from 5 feet away and it doesn't kill them.

I always thought that shotguns were always over powered because it seemed that they could just shoot you across the field and still get you.

With 12 Gauge shells they could. However they've been nerfed now so they're not so overpowered. It was a trade off though. You lost short range spread by choosing 12 Gauge shells so you had to get head shots all the time to make it worth while and considering you get a tiny little crosshair to aim with and no zoom it made it difficult. Rewarding if you can get to grips with it but they're weren't just seemingly spamming lucky shots. It takes skill to kill long distance with the 12 gauge.
