BFBC2 is such a great game to play with a squad which I usually do. I rarely play it unless I have at least one person on my squad whom I know. When it gets goin', it gets goin'!

Attacking, I use Engineer (maxed out) due to the support I give when a friend gets into a tank and I stay behind to repair the vehicle. Medic to reduce the number of lost tickets.

Defending, I use Assault for just plain taking people out as quickly as possible. Recon (maxed out) for spotting and I don't feel guilty for staying in one place because I have no real objective other than kill, and for the C4 to take out any tanks or what have you. I run around mostly and do what I gotta do to make sure they don't go near the objectives.

When I recon I don't use bolt action snipers, I usually use semi-automatics such as the T-88 or the SVU with either a Red Dot Sight or an ACOG scope because the game doesn't register bullet drop (for all snipers, try a bolt action with a Red Dot) unlike every other sniper with a normal scope. Just a tip for ya!

Love the game, we'll have to get some games in next time we're both on.

Yeah I don't like those bolt-action snipers. It's annoying having to to out of sight to 'reload' by the time that's happened i've lost my target.

I use to T88, only just unlocked the Gol, again bolt action, don't like, it's quite powerful though. I'm only rank 9 :(

I'm still not really sure about how the tickets system works, it's not explained in the manual and I can't find any resources online that explain the system. Is this something that is a Battlefiel 'norm' and is implied knowledge because I don't really understand what happens, I know I get them back if I revive dead soldiers but what that implies I have no idea.

The ticket system is pretty easy to get familiar with. If you are attacking on rush, or if you are playing Conquest you have a set of tickets. Each ticket is a life that your whole team draws from. Run out of tickets and you lose. Cap a point in rush and your tickets get reset.

So you have like 75 lives (or tickets) to get that point in rush. Defenders successfully defend when they make the other team use all their tickets trying to get the 2 m-com stations.

In conquest it is more of a ticket deathmatch.

Tickets can be earned back if you are a medic and save someone from respawning. In essence you don't earn more tickets, you just make sure that someone isn't foolheartedly using the one they just got before they died.

The thing about a ticket system is that the guy in MW2 who is 4 and 32 isn't really fucking up a team if the rest of the team is decent. However, that same guy will use all your tickets and lose the game for you. The idea is that you don't just run headlong into the meat grinder and wait for someone to get on a roll. Something i hate about MW2. There is more of an advantage to playing aggressively then smart in MW2. In Bad Company 2, the smarter your team is about how they play, the easier time they'll have.

they talk about it briefly in this
Also- when i started playing there was a ton going on. So i asked for tips on reddit. Some good tips in there.

Ah, I think I had gathered the main gist of it. Just that recovering tickets was a bit misty. I see that it's purely on the basis of Medics reviving dead soldiers. Is there no other way of getting back lost tickets?

oh- and i gotta say one thing about that video:

Switching kits from fallen players when it is to your tactical advantage makes you feel like an invincible god. It is one of the more advance things to do in the game, but if you see a medic drop and no one else is around, for fucks sake use his kit and revive him. Great thing about that is that even though you are using a medic kit, that revive score goes to whatever you spawned as.

getting those m-com stations. I've seen tickets go down to like 4 left and getting those m-coms kicks it back up to 75. Really tense and fun.

Yeah, getting the last kill just before the m-com blows up when on defence is the best feeling ever. Done that a few times now. Epic.

Was playing a few games earlier and a fucking hummer was hurtling at me, I threw a C4 on the floor, back-peddled a bit then *BOOM* the fucking Hummer front flipped right over my head. I was fucking amazed, I LOVE the physics in this game.

Standing on a hill using Mortar strikes and getting a Destruction 2.0 on an m-com with a bunch of soldiers defending inside is such a great feeling.

Started playing this two night ago and I'm already getting addicted.

Like many of you guys I don't really go for online MP shooters. I have never even played one minute of either MW1 or MW2, SP or MP. I don't play Halo or SOCOM. I'm basically very average to below average at shooters, not horrible but not great. But some of friends insisted that BF:BC is different and I got it on a whim when it was on special at Amazon.

I agree with all that's been said - it's pretty easy to jump in and once you get a feel for the maps and find the right nooks and crannies to play "smart" with, it really opens up. And I have yet to gain even one level, and I've only played Assault class because I just want to get a feel for the overall game/maps before trying other classes. I've played about 30 min of the campaign and it seems OK. I'll eventually get through it.

Niode, I'd be happy to jump in with you sometime. Bear with me, as I don't always know exactly how to jump in/out of matches because, like I said, I don't play online MP very much. I'll be with my other squad much of the time, but I would really like to play with some RB members on at least one game at some point. My attempts to round up people from here for Castle Crashers and other games like that never seem to pan out.

Sounds like we at least have a foursome going here to coordinate via chat.
