There is a Walmart near my house that still has GameCube games, and one of them was Ikaruga. Since they were no longer priced, and the only GC game they had that was priced was a Madden gme for 10 bucks, that is what I paid for an unopened copy. That was a good day. Also, I saw this and laughed

They are rolling up prices!

Why yes, yes they did. I got all 3. And do you know the best part? The absolute best part?

I paid with a 50, the lady at the register put in that I paid 500, got confused, and gave me change for a 100. So after tax, I actually made money on that. I got my 50 back plus 9 bucks for 3 sweet, unopened copies of Ikaruga. Life can be good sometimes.

I couldn't let that much of an error slide. Especially after getting a good deal on the games. I'd have to mention the cash error to the lady. Otherwise I may not be finding those good deals anymore.

I would have had to have corrected the lady about the change, and I hate corporations mostly and Walmart in particular. I bet if someone has a short register Walmart makes them pay the difference. I worked at a grocery store that did that like 12 years ago. Believe me, someone who works at Walmart cannot afford to be losing money.

Wow. I can't believe you'd accept that. I've always given everything back at a register that I get incorrectly - even if it is a penny. Usually the cashiers are extremely grateful because it means less trouble (or $ out of pocket) for them. If you take incorrect change knowingly, I'd say it's akin to walking into the store and stealing something off the shelf without getting caught: you got away with it, but it's still theft.

It doesn't matter if it's Wal-Mart, Goodwill, or Bob's Local Emporium. On principle, you should do the right thing and bring back the $ you ripped them off.

Off topic, but i've a few similar situations happen to me. Once I went in to check cashing place, stoned off my ass, to get a $200 "payday loan". After making out a personal check for $200 + whatever fees they charged, the cashier started counting off my money and went past $200 and kept going until she reached $500. I kept my mouth shut and looked at the paperwork before I left, and right there in black and white was a receipt for a $200 loan, and they had my personal check for $200, yet I walked out of there with $500. I kept it, of course. I was nervous for a week until the check I wrote them cleared, but as far as I was concerned, it was their screw up.

I've been on the other end of that as well though. When I was bartending I was working an early shift, and right at 11 am a really hot chick came up, placed a small food order, and paid with a ten. When I gave her change back her demeanor changed and said "What's this? I gave you a $20, where the rest of my change?" When I politely told her that she gave me a ten, and I did not even have a twenty in the drawer because we just opened and she was my first customer, she accused me of stealing! She got bitchy and asked to see my manager, and after he inspected my drawer promptly told her to get the funk out. I still wonder if she made an honest mistake, or was trying to scam me.

They wont make the walmart employee pay out of pocket but it could lead to discipline actions. If it's a recurring issue she could be fired. The few times I worked in retail I always say aloud what they gave me. "Outta 20" while I take it. Then I don't put it into the drawer until I give the change to the customer.

BAAAACK on topic, I'lm gonna check out my local wal-marts for anything good. I rarely go into them.
