WW1 FPS?

Post by Octopod »

Are there any recent-ish ones? I crave some death match that contains some or all of the following...

Mustard gas
Bi-planes
Tanks that run on train tracks
Calvary mounted on horses armed with both a lance and a sub-machine gun while wearing a gas mask
Trench warfare

This picture says it all...
Image

I want to game with that dude.

Only way that picture could get cooler is if the horse was wearing a gas mask.

A world war 1 shooter would just be hours of sitting in a trench putting your head up, shooting, repeat.

In all honesty though you think that it wouldn't be the right style of warfare for a game, slow and not fast moving , other than no mans land, I mean how many different levels could you pump out on the basis of trench warfare.

The solution would be to play as the Americans, or the Germans in 1914. Neither of those spent all of their time in the trenches. And a plus to this would be that, in WW1, the Germans aren't the ultimate evil side like in WW2, so it would be okay to make a single player game where you played as a German.

And, for the record, I've been wishing for years someone would make a FPS set in the Korean war or WW1.

Toy Soldiers on XBLA is more of a strategy game, but it is set in WWI. I had a lot of fun with it, and would really recommend it to anyone interested in WWI.

I thought there was a WWI PC first person shooter sometime around 2002. I remember seeing it in the jewel case only budget section.

Decent singleplayer, never played the multiplayer.

I know there are some WWI mods, but I do not know of any titles off the top of my head.

I bought this and beat the single player but it is a tower defense game. Cool ass game though.

Fastbilly that game takes place in 1964 in a world where ww1 never ended. That's a cool idea but not quite what I am wishing for.

Thats the one. Looks like it could be good. I remember seeing it just after I got a new pc but with Medal of Honor Allied Assault and Return to Castle Wofenstien I already had my hands full.
