Because I am using a Japanese Saturn and using EUR RGB Scart cables and everything works fine.
You can also use the Transcoder in Japan..it will work fine with the power supply i mentioned.
I mean a Japanese Saturn. But what transcoder are you using? The one I listed? As for a power supply, I'm sure I could find some sort of step down converter ...
I'm a little weary of the item because it doesn't support Japanese or American format NTSC. Can anyone else provide their opinion on the matter?

If the Upscan Converter doesn't solve the problem to a tolerable level, I'll sell it on ebay and try to figure out the JROK thing in July or something as a summer project.
I don't want it to seem like I'm not accepting your advice, becuase you've provided me with some very valuable information but anything that involves taking up soldering for the sake of a Sega Saturn seems like a bit much for the moment.
If and when I get the Upscan Converter (will probably obtain mid April if I do), I will post pics of how it goes. If it doesn't work, the saga will continue with the RGB device here as well.
There is a little soldering involved, reason why I pointed it out. In all honesty not really that difficult, the hardest is getting all the right parts. The soldering is a matter of creating connectors to plug into Saturn, JROK and RCA audio input of your LCD, 8 pin-out wires total. Well, additional 2 wires and a 5 volt power source such as a small transformer plug for the JROK. RGB route is more work up front, but will provide the best pic, more cost effective vs XRGB transcoder or the cheaper Upscan option.
If the Upscanner doe not work out, maybe an electrician friend can do that soldering?
I guess I could do it myself for a summer project, but it's just a lot to do just for a Sega Saturn. It's really outside of my arena though, so I would have to really educate myself on it. I'm a little confused on why I would have to "create" connectors though, when it looks like it already has connections on the circuit board?
Anyways, I like the Sega Saturn, but if I can get a decent image (doesn't have to be perfect) I think I'll be okay.
What did you think of the item the person above suggested?

Edit: As it turns out, the two Hori Upscan Converters available on yahoo.co.jp auction are both being sold as "condition unknown" aka "as is." What a disappointment.
I found another one on
this website, but the website still says copyright 2003. :s ...
But I might be able to aquire an XRGB Plus 2 ... if I can still find listings as cheap as 2700en in May.
