Re: I give up.
As Hatta kinda said, I think he was covering up. Either he took it himself, gave it to someone else, or already threw it away and is making an excuse up. Gamestop is one of the most wasteful companies I have seen. The throw away merchandise all them time, they could atleast donate to charity, I am sure goodwill wouldn't have minded all the guides, accesories, and gaming gear.
Before I was a store manager, just an Asst. manager, my store manager promised I could have the guitar hero promotional stand, which is a real guitar stand. The district manager was also headquatered in my store and wanted it also. My manager told him he already promised it to me. The DM said just don't tell me and put it in his office. My manager tried to back me up saying that the dm could always get it from one of his other stores, that he didn't want to go back on a promise. The DM didn't care. Its not the company, its the people they hire. That DM came from a shoe chain and knows nothing about games, or they hire the opposite who is so into games that they drive potential sells away and try and take as much free stuff as possible, namely reserve stuff.

Re: I give up.
that sucks SO bad you didn't get that kiosk. the first time gamestop handed me a 'new' game that was open, I lost all respect for the company. You opened it fuckers, it's not new, you should knock a couple bucks off the price of that 'last copy.' It was gradius V, and I wanted to punch the associate. I know there's a big long thread about that crap anyway, so I won't rant. If I remember right I even wrote them an email complaining. I still raid gamestops once in a while, but I always try my independent local used game store first.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

Re: I give up.
Thanks for some of the suggestion/support guys
@Pep: That's pretty much exactly what I'd expect were it not that the DM in that store was on vacation when we first called up there last week and I spoke to the store's normal assistant manager instead who ok'd it as they had just put the kiosk into the back room that very day and were getting ready to toss it out.
But, after my DM emailed their store and I made a few calls they were forced to hold onto the kiosk until we got word back from their DM, and you all already know how that turned out.

Isn't it better to play your PS2 on a much bigger tv while sitting down, as opposed to staring directly into a small screen and standing up for hours on end?Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:What's so special about owning an arcade cab?Weekend_Warrior wrote:Can I just ask.. what's so damn special about owning a kiosk anyway?

Obviously, the difference between most PS2 games and most Arcade games is that PS2 games are designed to be played for several hours. Whereas arcade games are meant to be played in short spurts and is tailored more towards instant gratification for the player rather than say.. a long-term campaign of rewards and unlockables on a PS2 game.
Would you really want to stand for several hours playing Final Fantasy or God of War?

Re: I give up.
Why would I play FF standing up? God Of War yes, FF, no. Also, stools are like $5 at Wal-Mart so that's taken care of anyhow. Mostly though, I want one for all the types of PS2 games I play, namely fighters, shooters, action titles, racing, arcade comps, retro comps and more.Weekend_Warrior wrote:Isn't it better to play your PS2 on a much bigger tv while sitting down, as opposed to staring directly into a screen and standing up for hours on end?Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:What's so special about owning an arcade cab?Weekend_Warrior wrote:Can I just ask.. what's so damn special about owning a kiosk anyway?

If I wanted to play FF I have another PS2 a couch and a nice surround sound system to play that with.

Re: I give up.
Sure, owning a kiosk makes for a nice collectible. But I don't see why there's any reason to shell out large sums of money (ebay) or go nuts if someone doesn't let you have it.
Gamestop does suck though. There's no question about that.

It's like I said before above in my non-sequitor comment the last time you asked.Weekend_Warrior wrote:Sure, owning a kiosk makes for a nice collectible. But I don't see why there's any reason to shell out large sums of money (ebay) or go nuts if someone doesn't let you have it.

It's all about having one, sort of like owning an arcade cab. It's an experience that's very different and sometimes better than playing the home sitdown version.
