It has nothing to do with "some moral high ground" and everything to do with anything can offend someone out there... where do we draw the line at when we stop trying to please every hyper-sensitive person with zero sense of humor (the number of these people is growing at an immense rate). I don't even think i have ever used any variation of the term "that's gay" on this board until this thread lol.jp1 wrote:Really, this is ridiculous. It doesn't much matter what anyone believes about the terms in question. They offend SOME people and it would be polite and respectful not to use them. There are plenty of other slang terms available to get your point across without having to revert to fourth grade language.
Stop acting like it is some moral high ground to be able to go around spewing words like "faggot" or whatever else. It doesn't reflect positively on you.
The internet is the last place where people are free to do and say as they want. People should be able to say what they want. That includes if someone says something you don't like you have every right to say that you don't like it. Having an authority figure tell you that you cant say certain things seems wrong. Having list of things you are and aren't aloud to say sounds a lot like grade school. Iduno i guess i just have a problem with telling people what they can and can't say.
