What's with the sexism and homophobia lately?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Stop acting like it is some moral high ground to be able to go around spewing words like "faggot" or whatever else. It doesn't reflect positively on you.
It has nothing to do with "some moral high ground" and everything to do with anything can offend someone out there... where do we draw the line at when we stop trying to please every hyper-sensitive person with zero sense of humor (the number of these people is growing at an immense rate). I don't even think i have ever used any variation of the term "that's gay" on this board until this thread lol.

The internet is the last place where people are free to do and say as they want. People should be able to say what they want. That includes if someone says something you don't like you have every right to say that you don't like it. Having an authority figure tell you that you cant say certain things seems wrong. Having list of things you are and aren't aloud to say sounds a lot like grade school. Iduno i guess i just have a problem with telling people what they can and can't say.

Everything can offend someone out there but not everything DOES offend someone out there. Sure, you have a right to free speech which is why you won't get arrested for saying offensive things. As a member of this community you should still respect others enough to hold back on using language that is offensive to them.

Really every slang or vulgar term is just a word and you could carry the line as far back into regression as you want to. Being Archie Bunker won't prove anything either.

I don't have a dog in this fight. I'm not gay and neither is anyone I know personally. It just seems easier to show other people a little consideration than to worry about the 1% of words I will need to avoid to do it.

You have a point for sure. I'm just %100 against people deciding they don't like something and banning it.

Example of whats better then banning words:
Some lamer joins the board and starts constantly saying annoying (racist/sexist/so on) things.. he should hear about from members. At least he had a chance to be who he was. And we got a chance to learn who he was. He would quickly learn that people here don't like that shit and would either leave or stopped talking.

This is IMO far better then BANNING certain words.

I've read the thread. I just thought this was funny.

In my opinion, a lot of people have said some pretty dumb stuff. This includes people on both sides of the argument.
