Is it worth it to get a PS1 just for SOTN?
Re: Is it worth it to get a PS1 just for SOTN?
Do you not realize that SoTN is also playable on the PS2, PS3 (PS1 disc OR PSN download), PSP and X-Box 360 (via X-Box Live)???????

You may want to consider getting Castlevania Chronicles as well. And yes SOTN is most certainly worth it.

Most of the good games, SOTN/FFVII through IX are all playable on the PS3. That said, I have my PS1 from the late 90's that I modded (because back then it was cool) and can play all types of burned games on and would recommend to any collector to have a PS1 for the nostalgia and for the simple fact that it is nice to hook it up to an older TV and enjoy the original games as they were meant to be played. FFVII doesn't look so hot on my PS3 and Sony Bravia.

Yeah, I don't have a PS3 or an Xbox360, and I prefer the original game over any dl'ed version.

Sometimes PS2s have problems reading CDs. Maybe dusty laser?KillemallCFH wrote:I actually just bought a PS so I could play SotN, because for some reason it had a lot of trouble working on both mine and my friend's PS2 (works with no problems on the Playstation).

If you don't want to play the XBL download, there's also this for 360.

Could've been, but most of my other PS games worked with little problem. (I had a problem with one other game, but that game was old and scratched up. SotN, however, has no visible scratches/smudges/defects.)CRTGAMER wrote:Sometimes PS2s have problems reading CDs. Anyways, I'm still glad to have a PS now, if only for the nostalgia value, and $20 is hardly breaking the bank.
