Got to disagree. I enjoyed Maniacs as much as Excitebike on the NES, although theyre not the same game.

I stick with Wario land, Street Fighter, Six Coins, Zelda and Tetris for a "mainstream" list, but theres a hell lot of playable shit. I specially enjoy Battle Arena Toshinden , cant find a cheap copy of World Heroes Jet 2.
weird that you mentioned Battle Arena Toshinden. I won it last night, and then was thinking to myself "jeez, did I even really want this?"

I didn't say anything about enjoyment. I just said that the controls on Excitebite were more responsive.

when you say brawler, you just mean 1-on-1 fighting games?

yes

I tried the kof ones (and i had this rom for a KOF r2 who looks similar to the NGPC series, but cant find a cart ) and they were ok, also for Mortal Kombat 1 and 2, love the Battle Arena , Street fighters and the World heroes, but wonder abour the rest. Ive heard good things about Primal rage, but never tried it.

I've heard bad things about Primal Rage. But Killer Instinct is good. There's a couple Fatal Fury releases as well.

ah, i forgot about Killer instinct. I got the worst cart ever with its pcb. Gotta find a good condition one.
I heard theres one fatal fury (dead heat whatever? cant remember the title) featuring Iori from KOF, probably getting it if I see it cheap.

there's two Fatal Fury games. Both were Japan-exclusives. I don't know which was which, but one of them had super-deformed characters (like what SNK did with the GB port of Samurai Shodown) and one tried to keep full size characters.
