A good alternative to the Hori Pad for GB Player?
Re: A good alternative to the Hori Pad for GB Player?
OH! i guess the photo is just wrong. Didn't look like it would fit a cube slot. Good idea about just using the GBA .. i already have one of those cables!

though I can't vouch for the quality. I"ve never used one. Certainly it looks nice. I think if it were me I"d go with Pellican, a company whose products I've used since the prices are about the same.

Stay away from that Chinese gadget. Terrible input lag on SNES controllers.samsonlonghair wrote:Or you could try this Chinese gadget.

I'm glad you pointed that out! One of my locals has this thing brand new for like $25 and I've eyeballed it a couple of times...fastbilly1 wrote:Stay away from that Chinese gadget. Terrible input lag on SNES controllers.samsonlonghair wrote:Or you could try this Chinese gadget.

I bought it after following it for over a year - big disappointment. The RetroUSB ones seem to work a whole lot better. I just havent found a controller I really like for the Gameboy Player yet. Ive been told that a SNES adapter and a Commander controller is probably the best for me, but when you price it out, it is the same price to buy a Horipad... This is on my list of things I want to figure out this year.

Hori digital pads are a fair bit cheaper at Yahoo Japan Auctions. I was bidding on several JA GBA carts through the proxy service FromJapan, and adding a Hori for $30-some dollars had a negligible effect on shipping.fuctfuct wrote:Looking for something cheaper
Although I haven't tried any alternatives, I can easily say this pad is a huge improvement over GB Player'ing with the standard GC controller.
