I've never actually spent too much time on the 2D Metroid games. I love most any games made by Nintendo, but I'm a huge RPG fan. I know that a real RPG fan would pick up Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, or Secret of Mana. I'm also a huge fan of fighting games and Beat 'em Ups, but mostly Nintendo for me.Ack wrote:As a huge SNES fan, I quite like your collection. It's not huge, but it more than makes up for it with the quality of games. I'd also be more than happy to recommend you additional games, though I don't know what genres you prefer. From what I can tell, you do enjoy your first-party titles from Nintendo, so I'd say you ought to look into finding a copy of Super Metroid.
My gaming setup/collection
Re: My gaming setup/collection
Ah I never played the GBA version. I'll be sure to check it out. Pikmin 2 is a really fun game. I actually prefer it to the original, seeing as the time limit was removed, gave the game more of a sense of adventure and exploration. The Zelda 64 disc I believe came with Wind Waker as a preorder, and the Metroid with bonus disc was actually a free game I got from swagbucks.com. I had a link in my sig, but Niode told me to remove it, so if you want more info on it, PM me. I'm not sure the game is still there, or if you'll actually get the one with the bonus disc. I got the MKDD bonus disc bundle at it's launch as well. It actually has some great demos. Mario Party 5, F-Zero GX, TMNT, and Star Wars I believe. All except for Star Wars I liked, but I never got TMNT for some reason.

No, no, you're already doing quite well with Earthbound and Mario RPG.
As for fighters, might I suggest looking into Street Fighter Alpha 2, Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters? Also, if you're a fan of Killer Instinct, the SNES is the only console to play it on(though you could grab KI Gold for the N64 if you felt like it).
As for beat 'em ups, I enjoy The Peace Keepers. And if you like Hack and Slash, The King of Dragons is one to check out. None of these are first party, but they're all pretty awesome in my opinion.

I have both the Zelda Cube 64's and all those bonus disc games as well. The one that has been hiding from me is the Star Wars promo disc. Both Star Wars games and Metal Gear (though PS1 had better music/voices) are very good. I eventually will have to get that Pikmin 2 game, and Paper mario. Trying to stick with just the exclusives for the Cube. My real lucky finds for the Cube are the Original and Newest Action Replay and the Component Cable. Original Replay allows code entry, New one has built in SD Loader for Homebrew.Josh wrote:The Zelda 64 disc I believe came with Wind Waker as a preorder, and the Metroid with bonus disc was actually a free game I got from swagbucks.com. GBA Warioware both are great, although Twisted will be ridiculous to play on the Cube. (Motion sensor)

Re: My gaming setup/collection
Yeah, I do recommend getting Pikmin 2 and Paper Mario, though I don't know anyone that wouldn't if you have a Gamecube.
And I never actually realized that the original Action Replay was somewhat rare. Since I've joined here it seems that it's pretty sought after as a bare-bones Cheat Device and Freeloader. I would probably play Twisted on my Micro, as well as Yoshi Topsy Turvey and Kirby Tilt and Tumble if I ever get those. Otherwise most of it is played on the GBA player. In small increments of time, for me anyway, to prevent screen burn-in on my Plasma. Don't think the family would want to watch movies with a Game Boy border.

I'll have to look in to those. I've never actually heard of any of them, save for Street Fighter and Killer Instinct, though I've never played any of them. I'll see if I can find them for pretty cheap. Thanks.Ack wrote:As for fighters, might I suggest looking into Street Fighter Alpha 2, Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters? I notice you've got a pretty big collection of musicals on VHS hidden back there.
Re: My gaming setup/collection
Not mine, my grandma's. I'm not really into them and she didn't have a better place to put them.

Re: My gaming setup/collection
Again, sorry for the double post. But I have some pics of my Game Boy collection. I figured it was necessary since I posted the Gamecube with the Game Boy Player. So here they are.

Pencil case storage was I believe an idea by PeteDorr, another collector on YouTube. Very great idea in my opinion. I have the Game Boy Micro faceplate key still sealed on the left. Also Mario Tennis CIB. Wireless adapter on the SP.

I finally found the resizing options that work for me but aren't too large for the forum. If you can't read a title, tell me and I'll point it out. This are all of my Game Boy Advance games.

Blurry because I may have shaken the camera as I took the pic. It's a cell phone camera with a horrible "take picture" button. Hopefully it doesn't look that bad. Again, if you can't tell what a game is, ask and I'll tell you.
I really should've kept the boxes to all these games as a kid. >_<
