I'm looking for the games previously mentioned in this thread, but I'll wait until the system arrives to really do some digging. Thanks for all the information guys - I really want that MVS thing if it works like that.
The converter will save you in the long run if you plan to buy many games (even some, like the Metal Slugs, the difference between MVS and AES versions is $100s to $1000s), but the converter is INSANELY overpriced. I cannot imagine that it is that complicated, but there is probably a high demand for them, and clearly NeoGeo owners tend to have money to burn, so they are priced accordingly. Here;s one google pulled up for $250 :\

I'd really love to see an MVS converter opened up to see what the boards look like. The Power Base Converter for the Genesis is a pretty damn simple board, so I'd be shocked to see the MVS converter being complicated. After all, the MVS ROM chips can be removed from a MVS cart and put into an AES cart and everything just works. The only thing I could think of is if the MVS cart does something to the video output that needs to be undone by the converter to work on an AES.

I appreciate how you like to always state the obvious. With some exclamation marks. And that smiley at the end.

Thanks for the greetings. I had some time to browse the Neo Geo site a bit and saw a converter on there as well, but again they're really expensive. I prefer to have the real thing anyways. This is one system where getting the games will be a challenge, but I'm up to that challenge!

I did make friends with the owner of the local B/S/T video game shop that gets a lot of business. He doesn't normally buy Neo Geo games but mentioned he will if they come in and just sell them to me at cost. :D

Top of my list right now are any of the Metal Slug series, at least one of the King of Fighters, Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury. Those seem to be must haves.
Current Systems:
Atari 2600, NES, Neo Geo AES, SNES, N64, Silver GC, Wii, Genesis, 32X, Saturn, DC, 2 PS2 (White + Silver), Slim PS3, X360 MW2 Ed.

If you're gonna get an AoF, skip the first AoF unless you're a completist or a nostalgia nut. The first AoF has aged terribly, it's got clunky controls and the game mechanics limit your special moves by means of a "special meter" that gets depleted as you use special moves...

Great for its time with these huge sprites, and facial damage as your character gets hit, but not much to recommend it these days.

Get Samurai Shodown 1 or 2, that's relatively cheap and it's an extremely solid fighter.
