They open twice, like a big PS1 case, and they have 4 CD spaces, even if the game only has 1 disc. Pity the disc holding teeth things break so much.

4 CD spaces, don't you mean 2? I usually fill the 2nd spaces with CD-R'ed games, like multi-game discs of rare games I own like 3rd Strike etc.

They did something very similar with the Playstation one cases as well, except those only had one CD space, so they were even more pointless. Until recently with everything being sold in DVD cases companies tried to make their console's games stand out, and chunky blue cases certainly did that. I've actually started to replace some of my lesser played PAL games with Japanese or American ones now to save space.

Probably due to the huge booklet, which is about a cm or 2 thick (around half an inch).
