My Dreamcast Shelve set up

Post by GagaMan »

Got my hands on this rather lovely blue shelve that not only has room for my entire Dreamcast collection, but is even very close to the PAL Dreamcast shade of blue. The pockets were a little too deep, so each one has two mega drive boxes shoved down the back so the games stay to the front.

I even stenciled a Dreamcast logo down the side of it. I'm not that great when it comes to DIY, so it's a little messy, but it looks fine from a short distance. The cabinet even has Dreamcast related toys sitting along the top. =D

Note: These photos are a couple weeks old, since then I've got about 8 more games and a new LCD telly.

Looks great!
But I didn't realize that PAL cases were so much thicker...

Racketboy: Yeah, I've actually started buying NTSC versions of games I don't play as often (like Sega Rally 2) so they take up half the space.

Daigr: I have an account at RF generation if you wanna see my entire collection, although a lot of the photos need updating..

burrito4891: Actually, I didn't pay anything for it, it was passed on to me from my dad who didn't need it anymore, I'm not sure how much it was but it probably came from a boot sale.

Yeah they are huge. I read on wikipedia that they have to be that big for all the translations of the manual.

What a happy collection! If you ever try the stencil again, I'd recommend you buy some frisket paper, liquid frisket, and an xacto knife. The former two are marking agents which are very popular with air brush artists.

Love the Jet Set Radio poster!

Since these photos were taken, the Japanese Dreamcast collection now fills the first two slots, and the Shenmue games have been put back into their original cardboard boxes. =D
