They understand motions and know when an axis shifts; but as for tracking in 3D space, thats what the sensor bar is for -- triangulation.Cyberxion wrote:
Eh, considering that the Wii remotes seem to be capable of being tracked in 3-D space, I can imagine that the game wouldn't have any problem being able to determine whether or not they're being raised or lowered, and obviously shaking them will produce results.
Now as for whether or not this game is anything more than a rumor yet, I'm not too sure it is. I haven't read any confirmation, and the fact that a store took someone's money means nothing much these days. I hope it hits, because I'd finally get to sit and play the game again after several years, but for now I can't seem to find any confirmation one way or the other.

The baseball bat in Wii Sports seemed to move around judging by where your Wii remote was, so I can't really see how it wouldn't be possible. If anything it might be more responsive than what the Dreamcast controllers were, especially for the harder levels where sometimes it would just not register really fast moves. It's hard to really tell yet if the Wii could do it, seeing as barely anyone outside of Nintendo have really done a lot with it. There's bound to be some un-tapped capabilities we haven't seen anyone try yet.
