This is what I have, and I'd highly recommend it.

Well, that new bsnes is starting to shape up, and it's cycle-accurate.

Unless I'm mistaken, we're mostly referring to PC emulation in this case.

The best luck I've had is actually with the Xbox emulator compilation Surreal 64 B5.1 Ce using a WIP version of Monkeys69's INI file.
Because it contains 1964, Project64, and UltraHLE, and the INI file contains the correct emulator and settings for each game it works really well.
Every time I've tried PC emulation I had to wrestle with each game, and ended up having to weed through many pages of convoluted forum posts containing outdated information until I got to the point where I could get a few games to work. So I just gave up until I got an xbox.

Yup, I know but I figure most people have a Wii. If not, this might be a reason for them to get one.

Project64 is pretty cool but I found lots of graphical glitches/bugs in games such that I gave up on it and bought the real thing.

Well, thanks all. It's not that I was having trouble necessarily, just asking if the was anything in PC N64 emulation that was newer or whatever. I suppose a better question would be. Anybody got any links to really good plug-ins for Project64.

NM I found it
Oh? well then. When will they be here? Now? SHHHHHHH!
