There's definitely a knack but a lot of places tighten the front struts to stop this kind of use. That may go some way to explaining why you can't nudge it, in fact it goes some way to explaining why a lot of pinball machines get damaged, because people will just shove harder there for causing more damage in the long run. If they just loosened the struts so there was a little bit of play then the damage wouldn't occur in the first place. In a lot of games a good nudge strategy is essential, especially games where the ball has a tendency to go down the outlanes or straight down the middle quite often, knowing how to recover your ball from these situation is the difference between a poor score and really great one. The longer you keep your ball alive the more bonuses you get when the ball eventually does go.Ivo wrote: I don't like playing the real ones as much, one of the reasons is that I can't nudge / tilt it properly (maybe it is lack of practice, or I'm afraid of damaging it).
Attack from Mars is a brilliant pinball machine. I think Huddersfield is definitely great for pinball enthusiasts. At one point we had an Indiana Jones, an Attack from Mars AND a Twilight Zone machine. Now we have a TAF in my Local, a Spiderman in Vox, a Family Guy in Zephyr, a Twilight Zone (in bad condition
(if you haven't guessed I freaking love Pinball, I wish I had the room in my house for one)
