Civ 2 and TFC. There is no telling what I could have done if I never played those two games.
I could have been a contender, I could have been somebody.
What's The Most Addictive Game You Have Ever Played?
When I was younger and I finally got my Sega Genesis I had one game and that was Sonic the Hedgehog 2. I played it over and over again working my way up get all the chaos emeralds and after awhile to get all of them within the first zone. I wasn't untill Sonic and Knuckles came out that I even looked at Sonic 3. But I didn't play those games enough because I had borrowed Phantasy Star IV from a friend. It was the first RPG I ever played and I was absolutely addicted to it. I got a Saturn when I was in high school that I bought from a friend for 20 dollars. I spent countless hours on Shining Force III and even more on Burning Rangers (which was the reason I bought the system). I had Nights and I've always been disappointed that I haven't given that game enough of my time. I do plan on playing that again soon. When I got my Dreamcast I played alot of games that I felt addicted to, including Jet Grind Radio, Soul Calibur, Street Fighter 3rd Strike, Crazy Taxi, PSO, Bomerman Online, and Sonic Adventure(and 2 spent alot of time in the chao gardens). The original Gungrave is a favorite of mine on PS2. The quick action and style of it always makes me come back for more to beat my high scores. Also my friends and I played Guitar Hero from the day after it was released untill about a year later, 4 nights out of every week. On Xbox, everything by smilebit JSRF, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and my favorite Gunvalkyrie. Ikaruga and Soul Calibur 2 took up all my time on my Gamecube. Wow, that was alot longer than I wanted to orginally write.
LOL. I just played through JSRF on the 360 recently (since its now working in PAL regions!)racketboy wrote:BTW, I'm back into JGR again.
I went through about 4 or 5 levels last night and have been thinking about it all day while at work!
Would have to say:
Tetris DX - GBC - Still play it a lot.
Mario Kart - Snes - Dont play it all now but consumed countless hours...no...days!
SF2/SF3 - Various - See above comment.
Star Force - MAME - Old arcade shooter. Simple but addictive!
Crazy Tax 1 - DC - Excellent game. Should be released Live Arcade.
360 Gamer Tag = Kinn, PS3 Tag = xKINNx, Wii = 3036 8283 1247 3110
Overdosed on Gaming

CIV II hands down. This isn't a dup. It just happened to me again. ;P

Most recently for me, it's Guitar Hero and Advance Wars DS. GH perfectly captures that "just one more" feeling, and to me that's the essence of an addictive game. AWDS ... man I have put almost 110 hours into that thing over the last year and half (I play it off an on, just picked it up again last night in a funny coincidence). Still I don't even have half of the 300 medals yet!! My wife HATES it when I pick up that game.
Back in the day I used to find racing games more addictive than I do know. I played the original Ridge Racer on PS1 for many, many hours until I got to the last race. Now that I look back on it, I realize I simply had no skills and it shouldn't have taken that long to get through the game. I never did beat that damn devil car, either.
This might seem like a strange choice, but the original Mario Kart on SNES was like crack for me. I remember that I got a SNES with that game around Easter one year, and didn't get another game until Xmas, and I played that thing just about every single day those entire 8 months.
