What is the best software for playing DVD's? I have windows XP. Also i'm looking for something that is free. Thanks.
Re: Windows DVD player
I personally use VLC;

Plays most things in great quality. Though you might have to get some additional drivers if the computer you are using is a brand new xp install.

I always just used WMP, but you may or may not have the right codecs to play DVDs. If that be the case, you can always download some.
Re: Windows DVD player
I've used VLC, Media Player Classic, and Windows Media Player, and really they all seem to have virtually identical playback. I just use MPC (with the codecs from CCCP) because I like the way it feels.

Can't go wrong with VLC and Windows Media Player Classic. I love messing with the video effecting in VLC.
