Metroid Prime, the little elevator sequences blend into the game well enough and they aren't long enough to be annoying.

De Blob on wii was fun, it let you graffiti the screen while it loaded

maybe you should add screenshots of the loading screens , so we all can enjoy

I like the loading screens in Phantasy Star Online. Nothing like a good seizure before you go adventuring! =P

Anything that lets you actually do something during the load is a good idea. The Bayonetta example is a good one - especially when it so damn stylish! Hard to believe more games haven't employed this over the years.

My fave would have to be the original in this concept (so far as I know): Ridge Racer on the PS1. There was only one load screen, when you booted the game up. During this screen you played a modified round of Galaxian and if you managed to shoot all the enemies it rewarded you by unlocking eight more cars beyond the normal four.
