at least Barack Obama can really play basketball. Bill was just a rump shaker, all he wanted to do was a boom, boom, boom and a zoom zoomWeekend_Warrior wrote:I hope Barack Obama is a hidden playable character, like Bill Clinton was back in the home version of NBA Jam: T.E.

Re: EA Sports Bringing Back NBA Jam For Wii
The nail in the coffin!
With that out of the way...I can't wait! I still play the Genesis version from time to time with a few of my friends. I really wish I would have picked up an arcade cabinet locally when I had the chance a couple of years ago, sadly that money got spent on food.
I guess I'm one of the few that doesn't mind the fact that it is a Wii exclusive. I can see the benefits of begin able to play it over live/psn with your friends but I honestly won't miss the online features if there are none in the Wii version. IMO it has always been more fun to play games like this with people that are in the same room anyway. I have a lot of friends that are no longer in to gaming but they are more than willing to waste a few hours playing a game like this with me if it feels like the original did.
Maybe if this game sells well we'll see ports to the other two major consoles.
Also as someone else in the thread as said I really hope they don't include a bunch of useless motion controls. The classic controller would be the best way to play this game imo.

It's OFFICIAL! NBA Jam Will Be Setting Wiis On Fire!
EA Sports has officially announced that NBA Jam is heading to the Wii sometime in 2010. The game is being developed by EA Canada, with promises of new modes, characters and depth. According to the series' creator Mark Turmell, NBA Jam earned more than $1 billion for Midway in arcades after being released in 1993. While that success might be a touch difficult to replicated, EA is certainly ready to take its shot.

Nothing official's been announced yet as to the distribution, so I'd wait before any judgement calls.classicgamer5 wrote:I was watching X-Play and at the bottom of the screen it said it would be released on WiiwareMod_Man_Extreme wrote:I thought that it was supposed to ship to retail on a disc as per the original post.classicgamer5 wrote:Its gonna be released on Wiiware. Re: EA Sports Bringing Back NBA Jam For Wii
I think its funny that people are bitching and moaning about it being on the wii. The wii is nothing more than retro and arcade hits. In my opinion its what the dreamcast was...just harder to find great games. But ANY game that was great in the arcade has found a way onto the wii. Thats why its my fav console...only I dont spend 25 cent a round playing friends.
NBA JAM!...its the ONLY sport game that hasnt aged to a white dog turd WOO! Cant wait for this one.

Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

But the Wii isn't cool enough for them to own. After all, if they buy a Wii it means they are legally obligated to buy all of the bad games, and not just the good ones.lost_within wrote:I think its funny that people are bitching and moaning about it being on the wii.
