EA Sports Bringing Back NBA Jam For Wii

Last month EA Sports announced a new game is coming in January? Well today a report by ESPN says a source has confirmed that the game will be none other than...

NBA JAM!

What we do know comes straight from ESPN:



- Mark Turmell has been consulting the development team over at EA's Vancouver studio.

- Tim Kitzrow A.K.A. the voice of NBA Jam is also on board.

No details on rosters or game engine were confirmed, but it is expected to ship to retail which suggests a full game and not a re-release. It will also be Wii exclusive.

This does not excite me. What does EA think they can do to this series and bring it back to life. Only the first two were good all the 3D ones were awful.

Count me in the camp that's disappointed it's Wii exclusive. You knew this would come back at some point. I always envisioned it as a downloadable game for WW/XBLA/PSN. It makes perfect sense. Is someone really going to pay $40 or $50 for a retail version?

I'm hoping that it does plays like the first two release. if not it will break my heart. it will be EPIC FAIL!

yeah the price range will play a big part depending how EA will bring it on the table. other than that i'm still hoping for the original to come out on XBLA/PSA if this does not satisfy long time fans.

SNES Theme is so much better.

While the SNES version sounds much better from a technical standpoint I prefer the way the Genesis version makes decent use of it's iconic FM sound.
