my van just got broken into.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I know it doesn't help you now, but for everyone else, don't leave anything valuable in a vehicle if its not in the trunk or otherwise out of sight. Especially with the economy in the toilet.

That really sucks man. :(

QFFT, man. I don't know if this is a state-only thing or if it's all around the country, but Cops are going around ticketing people who leave valuable objects in plain site now.

How is that breaking the law in any way?

Think the ticket is less for breaking a law and more being careless.

Careless or not, it has to have some kind of legal foundation if you can get a ticket for it.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense.

Some douche nozzle broke into my friends Jeep by cutting through his windows with a box cutter. They tried to steal his cd player, but weren't successful. They also didn't look in his glove box, which held his $150+ sunglasses, and the spare keys to the Jeep. Morons.

We've had a lot of car break ins in my town lately. If you own a gps, not only is it recommended that you hide it in your car, but to also clean the window where it was stuck to. If a thief sees a ring where the suction cup was, they know the gps is probably still in the car.

I heard them be called tickets, but I never heard of them actually having fines attached to them. They might just be warnings. I'll see if I can find more information.
