Halo fans are retarded.

Given the chance to rise from a small company to producing the flagship title for a new console, heck I'd do it too. I can still be upset it happened thoughYackom wrote:Put a couple billion in you pocket, then see how happy you are on the way to the bank and how easy it is to ignore other peoples frowning faces.extrarice wrote:Halo was awesome...IN 1998 when it was first demoed at a MacWorld Expo. I'm definitely still bitter about Bungie selling out. It nearly destroyed the company. Several good employees quit and Bungie has now entered sequel hell and is no longer producing original stuff.
I mean, Halo was actually pretty damn cool, even for the day. And the gameplay was decently well-paced. I had a better time playing it than many other FPS games at the time. The shield and weapon systems are particularly elegant. Typical Bungie design. But they've grown stagnant and they've definitely not retained their independence, something they were initially promised. Halo is a great game, but it's not the genre-buster the Marathon games were, and I doubt Bungie will ever be able to recreate that kind of creativity.

I think it goes without saying that Mouse/keyboard is better than a joypad. Maybe the people who claim joypads are better just havent played with a mouse/keyboard setup long enough? Or are so used to playing with a joypad that they cant get used to a mouse/keyboard setup?
I for one think mouse/keyboard rules but I still think we could have a better solution for FPS controls. I thought the Wiimote would be the answer but playing games like Red Steel and CoD2 has left me feeling doubtful about that.
On another note, I suck so much using an arcade joystick for fighting games but with a joypad its a different story.

Speaking of Marathon, I'm jazzed to see Freeverse (another old-time Mac game developer) porting Marathon 2: Durandal to XBLA. Frog Blast the Vent Core!marurun wrote:Halo is a great game, but it's not the genre-buster the Marathon games were, and I doubt Bungie will ever be able to recreate that kind of creativity.
